Letter 57

Hey Everyone! I can't remember if I sent these pictures out last week so here they are if I forgot. This is the new Armenian Elder. His name is Elder Hansen and he is really cool so I can't wait to work with him later on my mission! Also pictured is pig ear. It was alright but not my favorite.

This week was short because of Saturday p day but I learned a lot this week. I can't say much happened with working in our area but we have seen a lot of success with the less actives we have been working with. This week has been particularly good for me though, even when a whole lot didn't happen. It is hard to describe in an email so I will just share my testimony. After a lot of studying and discussing with Elder Peterson, the atonement now has a special meaning to me.

I am so grateful for the redeeming power of the atonement. I am really starting to recognize my weaknesses a lot better after being in this area which has been an answer to my prayers since the beginning of my mission. I now understand that I can be redeemed from my weaknesses and I don't have to be perfect, I just have to keep trying.

The love that Jesus Christ has for each and everyone of us is truly amazing and I am so grateful that I have had the experiences I've had on my mission so far to feel his love in my life. I know that this is his true church and his gospel can make us happy and filled with peace. I love you all and hope you have a great week.

Letter 56: New Armenian Elder (Elder Hansen) -- and Water Day!!

July 24, 2017

Sorry I don't have a ton of time today but I hope you are all doing well! This week was pretty normal for us and not too much happened.

However, we did have a lot of the less actives we have been working with come to church which was awesome! Other good news, the new Armenian Elder arrived and his name is Elder Hansen! I am super excited for him to be here and Elder Stucki my trainer will be training him. It will be really good.

We don't celebrate Pioneer Day, but I guess in Armenia today is water day which means that it's a giant free for all water fight all day. You can just run outside and soak anyone you want who is outside.

That's a pretty great holiday and I wonder if they celebrated in Glendale. If they did I will be sad I missed it but I doubt they did, too many laws here.

Letter 55: MLC (First One for President Wells)

July 17, 2017:

Hey Everyone!

This week was kind of all over the place but that's just how transfer week goes. I personally love transfer week because we get to do a lot of fun stuff at the office and it's super busy.

We had quite a few meetings this week and one of them was MLC. That was really good because it was President Wells' first MLC and we did this discussion thing which I really enjoyed about how we can make the mission better.

Anyway, we didn't get a lot of time to work in our area due to those meetings but I felt like with the time we did have we got a lot done. I don't know if I was able to write this last week but unfortunately Susan dropped us. She came to church last week and juts out of nowhere after the first class (which is our first hour) said that she would be leaving and no longer wanted to meet with us.

That was kinda hard on me but I think it was important for me to go through that experience. I don't know why but I just feel like that will help me in the future. I hope that later on she will choose to meet with missionaries again.

Well, for the rest of this week we have just been trying to find and so far we haven't been too successful but this week we have a lot more time so it should be better. That's pretty much all I got for this week! Hope you all have a great week!

Letter 54

Hey Everyone!

I don't have a ton of time today so I will be brief! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had a normal day but we had to come in at 7:00 and wow, the fireworks are way cooler here than in St. George!

We also got to meet our new president yesterday! President and sister Wells are super awesome and it was a great meeting. We didn't actually go to them all so we had to wait until Friday to meet him, but we did have meetings all day that day so we got to see him a lot.

That was pretty much all for this week! Tonight is transfer calls so I will probably let you know what happens next Monday. I think we will both stay here but we will see. Hope you all have a great week!

Letter 53

Hey Everyone!

This week was shorter because we aren't having P day Monday but it was still a great one. We finally got a chance to meet with Susan! She has accepted a baptismal date and said she would be baptized when she finds out the church is true and the Book of Mormon is true which is awesome! We are super excited for her and all that is in store.

Other than that, we have been really trying to focus on improving our dinner messages and focus them on the message of the restoration. This week we have seen the blessings of doing this as many members have told us of their experiences of giving out copies of the Book of Mormon to their friends.

One member shared it with a friend of hers and her daughter was actually investigating in Utah. Well, the daughter was really debating on whether to be baptized or not and she saw the Book that was for her mom and opened it and read the written testimony.   Last weekend, the daughter chose to be baptized because of the power of that testimony.

I testify that we can be the answers to others prayers and as we share our experiences with others, we may be helping more people than we realize. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and this is the way we can find true happiness. I hope you all can find the same joy as you study the Book of Mormon. I hope you all have a great week!

excited to see what happens with President Wells!
